Karachi Kings Fast Bowler Aamer Jamal Fined for On-Field Outburst

During Karachi Kings’ two-wicket victory against Peshawar Zalmi at the HBL Pakistan Super League on Monday night fast bowler Aamir Jamal received a match fee fine equivalent to 5% due to a Level 1 offense.

The match committee fined Aamer with the deductions of five percent of his match fee because of his non-compliance with PSL Code of Conduct rules. The 15th over of Zalmi’s batting order witnessed the questionable incident. During his walk to the batter Aamer Jamal made a statement to the dismissed Hussain Talat which match officials declared offensive. The officials convicted him under Article 2.5 of the code because he used language or gestures that caused reaction from Hussain Talat during dismissal.

Before Aamer Jamal received his charge and penalty determination from Iftikhar Ahmed the incident was reported by on-field umpires Faisal Khan Afridi and Paul Reiffel so he did not require an official hearing.

The rules of the PSL strictly enforce match conduct and sportsmanship even though misconduct falls under its lowest offense category (Level 1). Aamer faces additional observation because this marks his second major disciplinary fine since the past few months.

Aamer Jamal took part in three Karachi Kings PSL 2025 matches where he achieved 2 wickets and ended his bowling with 48 runs. The lack of emotional control from Aamer risks preventing his participation in future matches.

Karachi Kings seek to move on from the situation as they get ready for their upcoming PSL 2025 encounter against Quetta Gladiators.

The Kings managed their third tournament victory through their close match win which followed their disciplinary punishment. The Karachi team successfully ran down 148 when playing on a slow pitch with three balls remaining in the game.

Hasan Ali produced the match-winning hit which secured victory for his team as they recovered from 133 for 8 to finish their innings before the 17th over ended.

Warner maintained a calculated 60-run innings which formed key connections with Saad Baig, Muhammad Irfan Khan and Mohammad Nabi and Khushdil Shah.

The Kings found themselves in danger during the powerplay as Luke Wood plucked out Tim Seifert with a duck and then removed James Vince early on.

Through his 17-ball innings Khushdil finished undefeated at 23 while hitting three boundaries which led to a successful victory in the final over.

Aami Jamal is no stranger to controversy. Late last year during the England test series, Jamal was fined for having a political message written on his cap.

The sixth PSL 10 game between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators takes place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on April 25.
